Multilingual Website for Praetoria Lifting
Praetoria Lifting is a European sales agency for lifting, safety and industrial control equipment. SPC Studio designed and built its website: one page that explains what the agency represents and who it works with, in English, French, Dutch and German.
The brief
Praetoria represents a small number of carefully chosen manufacturers and sells their equipment through distributors across Europe. The site had to make that clear in a few seconds to a distributor, a specifier or an end user, and make it easy for any of them to ask for product information or book a meeting.
Starting from the founder's words
The first design was drawn before the positioning was settled. Once the founder had written down his pitch, we rebuilt the copy around it and kept a written brief, so every line on the site traces back to his words or to a decision we took with him.
Two sections became one
The first build had one path for distributors and another for end users. It made visitors pick a lane before they had read anything. We merged them into a single "Who we work with" grid and moved the question into the contact form, where it routes the lead instead of taking up half the page.
Real products, real photos
Every product photo had to come from the manufacturers themselves or from the founder, with reuse checked before it went on the page. That took longer than reaching for stock, but the site now shows the equipment Praetoria actually sells, in use.
Four languages
The client asked for French, Dutch and German next to English. Each language has its own address, the translations were reviewed one by one, and product-line names are translated while the form keeps one set of values behind the scenes, so every lead arrives in the same shape whatever the visitor's language.
Built light
The site runs on React and Tailwind CSS with two runtime dependencies. The request form posts to a small handler we wrote ourselves on the same server, so leads stay with the client instead of passing through a form service. It keeps to an accessibility baseline: a skip link, visible keyboard focus, reduced motion respected and a layout that holds in forced-colour mode.
