DJ Press Kit Design for Tommy San

Tommy San plays techno in Brussels. He wanted something to send to clubs and venues that felt like one of his nights, so the founder of SPC Studio built him a two-page press kit in Figma, using only photographs Tommy took himself.

Press kit cover: Tommy San behind the decks under violet and pink light, his name set large above a framed portrait. Press kit inside page: biography, musical universe, genres, influences, mix info and contact details over a teal photograph.

The brief

Tommy was contacting clubs, venues and promoters himself. A link to a mix and a few lines of bio get read, but they rarely stick. He wanted one document that tells a booker who he is, what he plays and how to reach him, and that looks like his sets rather than a CV.

Working from club photos

We sketched the concept together: Tommy knew the feeling he was after, and the founder turned it into a layout. The rule was that every image had to be his own, and photos taken in a club are dark, grainy and lit by whatever the stage throws at them. Instead of fighting that, we leaned into it. Layered blending modes, colour shifts and blur push the photos toward the violet and teal of the room, so the grain reads as atmosphere.

What is in it

The cover carries his name, the year and one framed portrait. The second page holds what a booker looks for: a short introduction, his musical universe, a biography, genres and influences, how he mixes (CDJ and vinyl, tempo range, set length) and his contact and social links.

The hard part

That second page. It puts a lot of text on top of a photograph, and the panels had to be light enough to read without hiding the image behind them. It took a few rounds of balancing contrast, transparency and spacing before both worked at once.

Why we took it on

Tommy is a friend, and this is the kind of work we want more of: helping young artists and entrepreneurs show what they do to the people who can book or back them.

It was designed entirely in Figma, using only photographs Tommy San made himself, with blending modes and effects for the look.
